?En ja?vla freakshow? : Representationer av maskulinitet i svensk wrestling

The aim of this thesis is to examine representations of masculinity in the activities of a local professional wrestling promotion. After briefly outlining what professional wrestling is, the study draws on a body on feminist and intersectional theory which critiques the notion of gender as a binary and essential category. The material comprises 10 recorded shows and oth- er material published on Sthlm Wrestling?s website between 2010 and 2013, and is analyzed using a qualitative methodology derived from cultural studies. The thesis argues that there are many different types of masculinities in the narrative, which are constructed in relation to different power hierarchies such as ethnicity, class, sex and sexuality.

Professional wrestling has been around for over a hundred years. Its origin can be traced back to immigrants in the 1800´s whos collar and elbow style of wrestling became popular. Soon it found its ways into the carnivals traveling the country and there it became the wrestling that we know today. Two men, screaming and bragging how good and strong they are, trying to convince its audience that it shall pay to see the fight.The purpose of this essay is to look at two of wrestling?s biggest names in Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair from a rhetorical standpoint and see what they do to convince their audience to buy their matches.

Projektet kommer att gå ut på att ta fram en brottarsko som inte är universal som dem som är ute på marknaden idag. Detta är en sko som är speciellt utvecklad för en viss typ brottarstil. Brottarskon kommer att rikta sig mot brottare på elitnivå där marginaler har en avgörande betydelse av matchens resultat. För att nå högsta möjliga resultat kommer projektet gå igenom designmetodikens tre huvuddelar: Analytisk fas, kreativ fas och en utförande fas. Efter sammanställandet av informationen som givits under den analytiska fasen, kommer olika tester att genomföras för att nå bästa resultat.

Even though the statistics of bad health somewhat have dropped, the problems still remain. This has resulted in an increasingly high expansion of different types of preventive measures in order to avert health problems. By using the children's own thoughts and stories this theses aim to investigate and illustrate the phenomenon of rough and tumble play and its existence among five year olds in preschool.    The formulations of the questions are:What do children consider as rough and tumble play? - and what characterise that?From without a perspective of rough and tumble play, which kinds of rough and tumble play do the children play in preschool? - and how do those characterise?What makes rough and tumble play possible and accepted for the children to play in preschool?In this thesis I have investigated the questions above by interviewing 11 five years olds about how they consider rough and tumble play in preschool. From without Birgitta Knutsdotter Olofsson's and Torben Hangaard Rasmussen's view about play and rough and tumble play I created a perspective of rough and tumble play, which I used for analyzing the empirics. With rough and tumble play I mean games or plays that includes wrestling, hitting, kicking, pushing, chasing, running or/and the use of weapons against other human beings or other visualized beings or/and human beings.The conclusions are that children has many different opinions of what rough and tumble play is. Depends on who you are asking you will get a different perspective.

Travhästars aktivitet i hagen

Today there is a research project undertaken by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences along with Wången (a highschool specialized in trotter training), which focuses on trotting horse training, performance and health. The project investigates how exercise intensity and feeding strategies affect the development of growing horses. The project includes two groups of horses where all 16 horses are fed in the same way. One group of eight individuals are trained 100% compared to conventional training and the other group are trained 20% less than the other group. All horses are trained twice a week and are out at pasture beyond that.

Det finns tre huvudsakliga sätt att använd storytelling på, det första är att upplevelsen är en berättelse, det andra är att berättelserna runt företaget bygger dess identitet, och det tredje är att företagets verksamhet bygger på berättelser om dess historia. Företagen använder storytelling för att väcka känslor, ge kunderna ett mervärde, bli ihågkomna och differentiera sig mot andra företag.
